Signing documents. WITHOUT PRINTING! You gotta read this! (Apple specific)

Here's an article my brother just sent me on how to use your Mac laptop/computer etc to take a picture inside of the preview application specifically for your signature and insert it into any document you are viewing. Then save and email etc. Mind blowing and life changing for me! Enjoy!!!

Sign a PDF with Mac OS X’s Preview application.

Everything comes around again given enough time. This was possible longer than ten or fifteen years ago although it might not have been for PDF documents.
You scanned your signature, cropped it and saved it. Any time you wanted to sign a document you could drop that cropped scan into the document.
Now I know my mind is slowly but steadily deteriorating from age but I am pretty darn certain this existed (and why wouldn't it, it's pretty darn natural and essential).
Should be interesting to see if they claim a patent for that since nowadays patents are taken out for pretty much anything no matter if prior art existed or not.

Yes, I've been doing this for a long time. Just looked at the creation date on my signature pdf file and it is mid-2008. PDF documents have never been a problem because they allow annotation (at least the Mac implementation of a PDF reader does/did).

Huh. "Signing" PDFs in one way or another is old hat, like for 25 years now. And FWIW since PDFs are electronic files, you can acknowledge and sign them with a digital signature (certificate) which has been accepted and sanctioned under Federal law since something like the Reagan administration. (Yes, that long ago, and folks still don't know how to use the tools to do it.)

Of course with a Samsung Note and some other non-Mac tablets, you can literally sign any "form" that you display on the screen, with the stylus, and the tablet will incorporate it into the electronic file.

Not much new here.
