43f here in Kansas today, having my cup with a little Baileys in it, makes any coffee better. In the next week or 2 I'am going to head back to the river & check on the boat, take some parts & new gear over. Now that the holidays are over & the daylight hours are on the increase its only about 8 weeks till I head back for the year. Not as great as paddling south for the winter but it'll have to do for now.

Re: Saturday Morning Coffee & Weather

Been drinking ALDI's best Peruvian put through an Aeropress with 50:50 boiling:room temperature filtered water, then heated on the stove until it just "squeaks".

Keeps me from buying those $4.50 cappuccinos in Mooloolaba Beach.

Just to keep the Canadians happy - boat interior temperature is 27 degrees Centigrade at 10:52am. The $10 40cm Bunnings fan is on it's lowest setting.

Listening to Sunshine FM.

Re: Saturday Morning Coffee & Weather

Well, it's January 11 now but this is too much fun of a thread to ignore.

Lows in the high 30s this week in SoCal. Very cold for us. Also gale force winds. Fun. Husband had to loop line around the mainsail cover to keep it from slapping itself to death.

The oil filled electric radiator died during the night. That's OK, it's served us well. Better that than the old wiring failing on the boat (I expect that to happen one of these days). Sunshine today and we have another heater (that blows at us.....I prefer the quiet oozing of heat from the radiator) so we're OK.

Don Francisco's Hawaiian Hazelnut coffee this morning. Good stuff and not too pricy. Coffee cans are re-usable for so many things........

Trung Nguyen coffee is by far my favorite coffee. I make it stong, almost an expresso, with a teaspoon of sugar and evaporated milk about a 60 40 split. Its great with that first cigarette in the morning!

Late morning here in China, just finishing a french press of S&W Colombian. Packing today, and moving to Aberdeen via Singapore next Thursday. Not much sailing in prospect over the winter, dreaming of Summer in the Med.

I HATE packing...

Re: Saturday Morning Coffee & Weather

another Saturday morning here in Vancouver. Yesterday, warm and sunny, today more of same. went down to the boat yesterday, all is well, walked the docks on Granville Island looking at boats for sale. Just getting light here right now, sipping coffee, wife still sleeping, quiet time.
Shhhhh, I said QUIET time....

good morning all.

Wait a minute here SJ.....this is "Saturday Morning Coffee", not "Friday Night Boozin'".

Nicholson58, scotchy, scotch, scotch sounds not too bad either!

A pot of Tim's is freshly brewed, just about to pour the first cuppa. Frosty one here today at -16F.

Two weeks til we leave for St. Lucia and a 10 day charter......
