Can Zombies swim?
If it has Zombies on board or a bunch of people from the land of OZ it's gotta be sunk.
Both according to this thread are flesh eaters from way back and cannot be allowed to stay at the same mooring as the foragers. sink the Ozzies and Let them stay on the deserted island until they have eaten each other and then we can resume foraging for papayas and coconuts.
As for the Zombies it's best to get rid of them as they don't eat themselves just us regular folks. So they have to die!
This thread is more interesting than I thought it would be.

I am now in training for SHTF senario. Playing Fallout3 and Fallout New Vegas. You get practice scrounging, killing Mutants and Zombies. LOL

Just started watching a (US) Zombie TV series - I think it might be a documentary, or if not a sure sign that the US Govt knows something and is simply forewarning people. the people who can read the signs.....

BTW apparently Zombies are also attracted by noise. I didn't know that
Aren't the Zombies running things now?

Lets see, I have the island house, mountain house (but it's only 30 miles away), ocean going vessel, 30,000 rounds, we don't see doctors or take medications, good physical health, self sustaining orchard, good garden. Oh, and I'm a prime baby boomer, been there, done that, how is it I'm going away? Hard times let hard people survive. The one enemy I have is time. Lets hope we still have some.

WHY A SAILING CAT. Nothing else will be moving and one thing that made boats a necessary step in evolution was access to sea food, access to sea weed fertiliser and access to commodities that are not locally available.
Transport is going to be stalled back to horse and sail. A sailor suddenly has a value if he can defend his boat until he proves his worth. Always assuming enough people survive to make a continuing civilisation that's just back stepped by two hundred years.
By the way, a few fore saw the 2008 banking collapse. They got sacked!!!!

Good points.
I was listening to Rush Limbaugh(or someone similar) on the radio today. He mentioned that the FOX guy Bill Orielly said last night "they" are intentionally trying to crash the economy. So this is very mainstream news now.( I think - I don't have cable).
Which gives it less credence to me - but.
Fertilzer and fishing are good points fro trading especially since we will not have fresh fruit and veg. I was also thinking of trading guano from remote islands...
but this week will be Spring Break in Bahamas (and differnt types of birds) - please don't collapse yet ...
Also don't rely too much on the Pacific Islands for produce - they have little...

Lots of talk about eating fruit and veggies from the jungle, etc. but you won't get many calories from those. You have to have large amount of grains, either rice or flour ... figure out where that's coming from?

We have a place in rural Thailand and there is lots of fruit on trees, etc. for the taking, but the main stable of the local diet is rice. Without it you don't get enough calories to sustain much physical activity.

In these small quantities bleach/amonia is harmless... the chlorines in the water treatments probably worse for you...

White vinegar... 1 capfull/10 gallons

Simplistic...maybe....but I can grab pineapples and bananas off the trees on the side of the road in CR....try that in Chicago
With the excess food supply in CR, I don't think that life would be as bad as in a big city in the states.
Please pass the Solent Green.

Interesting that in these threads no one seems too concerned about acting in an enviromentally freindly way.

Is that because the Greenies have already been eaten? or are the Zombies........

The hemp they were wearing got wet and weighed them down. They were the first to go.
Not to mention in the movies their always the curios ones so the first to get eaten.
