Purchased a Leaking Diesel Can

We needed to purchase some fuel cans. I bought 2 five gallon jugs from our local Autozone. When we filled them up one of them started leaking. Found a 1" long slit in the midsection of the jug. Could be some punk sabotaged it at the store or maybe some careless worker opened a box with a razor knife or something. What an aggravation. Check them before you buy them.

Your local building equipment hire shop may do you some of the round ten? gallon drums that they supply with diesel generators etc. They usually throw the empties!

Drove into town and brought home burgers one night when the kids were little. My son bit into his and started crying. He had an empty bun.
I called and told them why I was returning and by the time I got back into town, the culprit was gone and I was assured he would not return.

Then there was the time I dropped off a weak hydraulic pump for an estimate to rebuild. Returning two days later they quoted me a stupid amount so I asked for it back 'cause it did still work. They gave me a box of parts and wanted $125 to put it back together. They got it back together in about 20 minutes at no cost to me.

And there was this other time right after my mom died when California sent her a "undeniable" ticket for running a red light. That was quickly cleared up.

Then there was the meter reader that maced my dog. ROFLMAO

LOL Kenny... it's all a matter of perception, as I'll bet there are other members who would think your cited problems were trivial.

Boy I totally agree. My point was simply that most things are very simple to resolve and suck is life.
I never liked to play "I'll show you my scar and you show me yours."
There's always a worse.

It's hard to find ANY decent poly fuel containers. I have couple of old 5 gal containers that are at least twice as rugged as the junk they sell now. Looked for more to keep on boat recently and had to settle for obviously inferior products. Not only that...now they have those lousy spring loaded safety nozzles, required by some environmental genius, that are absolutely SURE to make you spill fuel while you fiddle around trying to make 'em work.
