Re: Please Explain What a CRUISER is in Your Book..

I think it is a term from the 1970's that no longer fits so easily into the modern world.

Like motorsailer and Bluewater.......

Re: Please Explain What a CRUISER is in Your Book..

Talking of cruising... I was going to go to the Palma Boat show in a couple of days.
Then I read the blurb.
Welcome to the Palma Superyacht Show
in partnership with MYBA

A boat show for brokerage and charter yachts above 24m in length
30th April - 4th May 2014

Nope....... a waste of my time and theirs. I cant afford to cruise on one of them babies never mind own one.

Another show, another place.. with smaller boats.

Re: Please Explain What a CRUISER is in Your Book..

There are the obvious cruisers, folk who live on their boats and use them to travel. It doesn't matter if it's coastal, oceans or rivers. It doesn't matter if they have to stop to earn $ along the way.
That expands the definition to include anyone as long as their mindset and preoccupation is boating and their life on board.
People who cruise part of the year every year are certainly cruisers during that time, and the rest of the time it depends on what their major preoccupation is and how they see themselves.

Boatman and Atoll are aberrations who just confuse the whole issue

We may have to consult the Pigeonholer's Gazette about that.
