I went out at 4:45 am (0845 UTC), which was a bit before the predicted time of max sightings. Only saw five before the sun lit up the sky too much, and two were going the wrong way, so I don't think they were Perseids. A little disappointing, but as a bonus, I also saw a couple of satellites traverse the sky, and managed to see Jupiter with an orange band and it's four Galilean moons with my 60x spotter scope
. Altogether worth getting up a little early.
