Orcas Dive to Eat Sharks - New Study

We knew both were predators, but who knew that orca's (killer whales) fed on sharks!

Article here.

Re: Orca's dive to eat sharks-new study

I love Orcas! Here's some shots from two weekends ago, they came quite close to us. The big one had the hugest dorsal I've ever seen, looked 10' tall. Maybe I'll post some better ones soon, still sorting out those pics. I can only imagine what it looks like when an Orca takes a shark...

Actually I knew orcas will take a shark. I've seen it happen in the same area.

LOL... yeah I should have thought of that... I knew you were close to that area. Gorgeous country (and water)... about 700 mile straight west of me right now!

How's the halibut fishing?

Halibut populations seem to be alright in this area, though probably not as good as at times in the past. As with most areas of the oceans, there has been a decline.
