Oooooshiney

Just compleated my hard ask for the end of winter. We repainted the boat. It is now white instead of dark blue. Should reduce the heat dramaticly. We painted the bottom blue for Anti-foul. Hmmm, now the tops look a little shaby again. It never ends huh!
The rudder we trialed for the year worked a treat. So I built a new version of it. It is an aluminium internal frame, with the cavity filled with foam and shaped and a steel plate top and bottom and then the entire thing has been sheathed in two very heavy layers of glass cloth. It is half the weight of the older one and a little more accurate in profile.
I will post some photo's int he gallery if any one is interested in taking a look.

Not yet. That's another on the list to tick off. I would say we will get this season out of the way now and look at it next year. Hey, what's the worst that can happen :-)

Alan - sounds great. Real sailboats are white - right? LOL

I just did a whirlwind tour through your neck of the woods - BNE, MEL and AKL in one week.

I only had 18 hours on the ground in Auckland ;-( However I did notice from the time I landed at midnight until I left at 3PM the wind blew between 10 and 15 kts - I am sooooo jealous.

Next trip is definitely going to contain a weekend and a couple of vacation days...
