Old Threads With No Replies.

With the resurrection of a 10 year old thread on wannabees just happening, i wondered how many other threads have achieved this cult status. Did a search for a few words, typed in of all thing "toothbrush", pressed go, looked down and there was this one, staring back at me. You could feel the loneliness and despair of the poor thing, unloved and ignored. So i took pity on it and dived in. Now I know why it never got answered, everybody fell asleep before the end.

Anyone else can be bothered to find some?

I love it when people write horribly, then think it's everyone else's fault that it goes unread.

Who can really say why some are popular and some unpopular, whether forum threads, or people?

A lot of times it is nothing but timing I have found. The day and time a thread is posted makes a big difference as it effects how many and who on CF see it. Which changes the odds it gets responses.

That is why a thread may not have much action, dies, then comes back to life stronger than ever sometimes.

I read with great interest any threads about dogs or bikini-clad women who want to crew on my boat.

That thread reminds me of why some mothers of various species either consume or abandon their young....

Re: Old Threads With No Replies.

One thing the blogmeisters could do is to make a longer list to the right of "Recent Discussions." There is so much activity here that if a post doesn't get a reply within in a few minutes it scrolls away and is sometimes never seen again.

Good suggestion Kettlewell !!!

I find two tabs open with recent posts and subscribed threads helps... Not perfect though...

Years ago on another message board I had one person reply and say they almost skipped over my post. He told me I really should put an exciting title to it and it would draw more attention. Well, I took his advice and not only did it get more views, but it got alot of responses.

Maybe I should name all of my posts "boobs and free money" LOL!

What was the original question again? Just kidding. I didn't read it cause it required too much energy.
