Now that's cruising!

In a similiar vein (sort of), is it solar power if it doesn't go anywhere? I've been plugging away at my solar installation, dutifully installing the CF approved MPPT controller, the circuit breakers, the wiring, the cute litle stanchions that the rails mount on so the panels have a lovely home on my deck, the deck organizer so I can move the main sheet and topping lift so the panels fit and voila! I forgot the little connector thingies so I can't attach the wires to the panels. So there it I am I looking at my shiny new bling thinking boy I bet it's producing all kinds of lovely solars but it's like the refrigerator light. How do you know if it stays on when you close the door? Oh well, tomorrows another day and another opportunity for life to present it's little ironies. Oh yeah I can pick up the connectors then too.

Sit inside the fridge and close the door. If you can see the beer, open the beer. Then work out how to make the fridge light go out when you close the door!

Solar is wonderful

4:30 PM and I'm generating 9 amps. I was getting up to 11 at 3 PM. I have a new hobby! Watching the controller display!

Yep. One of my hobbies too. I've got my Link 10 right next to the solar controller display right over the battery command console right next to the amp meter for the wind generator.

Better than TV.

Because mine is a 'me install' the amp meter is in the corner of the aft cabin above the battery box in the dark I need to crawl, twist and torch my way to it... woe is me....

And on my main pannel I don't have a propper volt meter so I have to use the multimeter in the cigarrete socket.

Life is tough on Sea Life. I would love to sit and look at a big multi function display. And I mean BIG and bright. Its gotta have lights

Flashing lights

Those look like computer graphics to me. Dock lines are optional

Yard cruising? Check out Steinbeck's "Cannery Row" where the boater's sneak to a man's boat that is kept on the hard and they glue barnacles to the bottom of his boat at night!
