I've still got plenty to do before she’s ready, but having lots of fun working on her!

I went Halibut fishing in Homer in 1982. Beautiful country.
I also met an older couple (probably dead now) that we met in New Zealand in 1985. They sailed (non-stop) from Homer to Opua, NZ, every year. They summered in NZ and summered in Alaska..........gives a whole new meaning to the term, "Snow-bird" doesn't it......

She really is very beautiful...
I love the dragon. How did she get the name? Was she in the Arctic at some point?

How long were you there? I hope you had a good time...
I was in Homer then. (I produced and DJ'd weekly radio show called "Fantasy Factory" at KBBI on Friday nights.)
What a fantastic life the older couple must have lead. Very fortunate to do so. Yes, it does give a whole new meaning to the term, "Snow-bird"...

We are from Alaska.... Fairbanks.
I bought the boat from my dad who used Juneau as home port.
She did spend many years in Valdez and Hoonah as well.
The dragons are known in some Asian cultures to be good luck.
However, when dad had her built (Taiwan) he said he didn’t want all that dragon stuff on his boat...the builders tried to convince him but to no avail.
Delivery of the first Arctic Lady was to be to California…shipped on deck of some freighter with some other new boats.
As the story goes there was a storm and it had to be set over the side along with some other boats in order to save the ship.
The second one got the dragons…..they are actually molded into the hull.
She looks very different then when she was in Alaska…the pic below is her original layout with the helm on the stern…..you may recognize her.
