pirate New Surf Record . . .

Some of the stuff we get here along the W Coast of Portugal.... awesome surfing down a 27metre wave.....
This is due mainly to the canyon the cuts through the 'shallows' in to Nazerre...
Just down the coast from me...

Dman... forgot the link...lol

Re: New surf record...

In my native home town in the old continent we have one of the most impressive wave: Belharra
She gets up to 60 feet and even more
You need to be tracted by a waterscooter to be able to surf it.
I never tried it (scared) but I know people who did
and I have seen it several times

If you haven't seen the film,"Step into liquid", you really should. Breathtaking surfing.

Step into Liquid is good, but you should also watch Riding Giants. Jaws, Mavericks, Chopu/Teahupoo, etc. Here's Laird's ride at Chopu, still considered one of the most dangerous waves in the world. Though not a very high wave, relatively speaking, just look at it's sheer volume and awesome power. Not to mention the razor-sharp coral reef that's right there. Laird became famous from a mag cover of this ride, surfers were awed by the fact that he is trailing the off hand...
