Re: Nautical Oddities

Boat fell out of the tree

Normally the Walker Bay dinghy lives on a trailer, but I had to use the trailer for something else. I put the dinghy on the lawn, and then when lawn mowing time came (yes, the most loved therapy time for all sailors) I moved the dinghy into the tree on the play platform for the kids.
An overnight squall caused it to fall out hence my partner called out to me:

"Honey, the boat fell out of the tree"

Mutant 'fish' with a nose, feet, tail and WINGS baffles Caribbean island | Daily Mail Online

I'm pretty sure this is a batfish. Not sure which genus of batfish is might be though. Does anyone recognize this "mutant" creature?

Re: Nautical Oddities

I guess it's been a while since I've been in St. Louis. Apparently the floating McDonald's there closed in 2002.

Then again, if it's still around somewhere, the one in CA wouldn't be the only one in the world.

I'm saving my kopecks to buy one of these for when I get tired of sailing.

Reminds me of the TV show Stargate.

Ha! A Barbie figurehead. Better then a Hello Kitty

A good way to cover up a crushed bow. The next time it'll be her ass.
