The first looks like a shuttle from Star Trek. The second is pretty cool.

Just looking at the first one...has anyone ever been able to get paint to stick to aluminum for any length of time?

Knotty, The squat boat with the OB in the nose is a Mullet Skiff. These are used in shallow water for netting Mullet for bait and food (Smoked mainly) The Outboard is run in reverse which lifts it on the bow wave and it can run in 10 inches of water at speed. The aft flat section is for the seine net that they layout a near full speed. The latest drives on the market are forward facing (Volvo). The old is new again!
