In 1910 there was a Volcanologist on the island named Thomas Augustus Jagger (not related to Mick). He made an amphibious auto and there are photos of it in the Jagger Museum at the edge of the Crater. When I go up there the next time (its about 35 miles from here) I'll take photos of the photo and include it on this thread.

Clearly, you know how to post, Michael, since you posted your question. I suspect that you are asking how to start a new thread.

If so, at the top of the page, click on Discussion Board, then select the Forum you feel your new post is most relevant to. When the page opens with the list of threads in that Forum, you will find a Radio Button labeled New Thread on the left side of the frame at the top of the list. After you click on that button, you will see the usual form to compose your thread-opening post.

When you have the post finished, you can click on Submit New Thread or Preview Post. Some posters here don't seem to understand the advantages of the Preview Post option, but I recommend its use - it's most often better to pull your foot out of your mouth before the whole world sees it in there.
