Sorry to hear that Chief and Doodles. Lost mine 3 years ago at 74. You are lucky to have gotten the extra mileage. "Now I don't need a Harp or a Halo not me. Just give me the breeze and the sweet rolling sea. I'll play me old squeeze box while I sit alone. With the wind and the riggin for to sing me a song . . . And I'll see you some day on Fiddler's Green."

The Little Ship

I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted his white sails with a golden light, and as he disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, “He is gone.”

But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion had whispered, “He is gone” a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, “Here he comes!”

Having lost both my parents within 9 months of each other in 2009, I can sympathise with both of you. Best wishes to them and to you.

Man, so sorry for your loss. My Dad of 82 just suffered a stroke... He survived and is recovering well, but it was a wake up call that the man who has been there for me my whole life is on the end run.... I cannot fathom your loss.

My condolences, Chief.

Fathers and mothers

My sister told me the old man needed a new "chair", as the current one was, well worn out and has seen better days. So, his birthday was Dec. 7 and I sent her some money to help her buy one that might get past him. He always said he did not need anything, so no birthday presents. I finally received a picture of him in the new chair he got for his 85th.
They live in Ireland, and by god I am going to make every effort to get over there on my own keel before it is too late. It seems that my parents both have good genes, but they are also the last of their respective families from that generation, so I have no time to loose. Time to get going.

My condolences.
