There is a
funny story a
broker once told. There was a guy who wanted a Scarab. He figured out how he could pay for it by leveraging his credit cards and eating baloney. The day he bought it, he and the
broker took it out. At the
fuel dock he went inside to buy chips while the broker oversaw the fueling of the
boat. He picked up some chips and
beer and told the cashier to add the cost of the
fuel. $412.55 said the cashier. The guy was flored. He had no idea how much fuel the
boat took. Later after scooting around the bay for an hour the broker asked him where it keep the boat... of course he hadn't thought of that.
This is a cautionary tale of course but recently a friends brother purchased a new Scarab as part of his "turning forty thing". Today she said she found a receipt for the gas... you guessed it $400.00.
