This is English like "Colorless green ideas sleep furiously" (via Chomsky) is.

Too funny.

So you got a ticket for having your dog on the beach while trying to launch your boat, and you saw a sailboat. Got it. Or maybe not?

I have a side question here.
Do people tend to get really drunk before posting on cruiser forums?
Maybe I should start one of my threads. Or maybe I should get really drunk.

Re: LEO and unwelcome sailors.

This is one of the few threads I might actually understand.

The OP was launching his boat. A guy was hitting golf balls out into the water. (Possibly trying to hit a sailboat.) There was a cop nearby and the OP's dog was on the beach.

They guy pointed out to the cop that the guy hitting the golf balls was breaking the law, either by hitting the sailboat or violating the Marpol Act, and instead of charging the golfer with a crime, the guy charged the OP with having a dog on the beach.

Now the OP would like to talk to the guy whose sailboat was allegedly damaged by the golfer.

I see, putting ones head in the sand and telling yourself, "It is not happening," makes all go away.

Does anyone recall learning about a war for independence or why it was waged.

It's not happening to you, yet.

But then again, you probably own stock in Ky jelly, and like it rough.

Tell you descendants you chose to do nothing.

As for the sailboat owner, were his vessel damaged by the golfer, I would stand with that sailor in court.

Still surrounded by anchors.

Na... Zee makes sense, she just can't type.

I think Jason Flare got the summary pretty close. But it's real hard to tell.

Nobody's saying "It's not happening." They're all saying "we have no idea what it is..."

Kinda like how much info you'd get in a haiku thread..

You can't help but keep reading. The nonsense spoken here is WAY better than the nonsense at work, and much more enjoyable.
I haven't driven many golf balls, but I would imagine the steering wheel would be pretty small.

Re: LEO and unwelcome sailors.

The Ky comment was kinda special. From the Op's handle it might be an over or under medicated PTS thing. I have seen his posts before and they were not quite this..bizarre.

Yes, I agree. What happened, was bizarre. And yes, I wanted to know if anyone else felt that way. Yes, I intend to file charges under title 42.

So you admit you had a dog on the beach and the local law/ordinance/etc... prohibits dogs on the beach and you got a ticket for it.

Trying to claim it's unfair because the other guy broke the law is like trying to get out of a speeding ticket because other people speed and didn't get a ticket. Sounds good but doesn't get you out of the ticket.

I'm not suggesting the cop should have let the guy hit golf balls at the boat but hardly a threat to our civil liberties.
