Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens

Yeah I'm thinking based solely on what I see on the the bigger MY's that my wallet isn't big enough for the sirens, with a bigger wallet, I bet I'd have a bikini clad one on each arm

Very funny guys. You should have seen me go in the local grocery store and ask for sake (for seasoning the sushi) You could have heard a pin drop.

I would think that a kraken would end up being a heck of a lot of kalimari....

Re: Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens

Well Lads, www.SirensPub.com ARE Real, & have the same affect nowadays, as they did in that storied tale many centuries ago.
The place is a little glitzier now than it used to be (Sadly), & serves liquor along with wine & beer, where as they only used to sell the latter. But it's a nice enough to have caused me to move to PT for a decade ;-) And up until recently you could even take your dog in with you. Plus they have a fireplace. And a deck which stretches out over the bay.

I've seen giant squids as well, on ocean swims, plus, dead on SoCal beaches. And as to Krakens, I'd recommend malotov cocktails. Them, plus jumper cables run from the genset ;-)

Looks like good stuff, I'm in. Can I still bring my harpoon though? It kinda' never fails to be the deciding throw in a darts game at the Pub.

Re: Krakens, Giant Squid & Sirens

I was in a slip at a very nice marina one evening when I saw a poor siren walking down the dock. I know she wasn't a wealthy one because she had on these shorts that had worn clear up her thighs. She also must not have been able to afford a shirt either....only a skimpy little bra like top. As I was studying this remarkable creature I heard a sound behind me and turned around just in time to watch my wife transforming into a huge Kraken!! The Kraken came after me with much fury.....I tried to hold onto the life lines like a giant squid....every finger and toe grasping to stay on deck, but the Kraken was to ferocious.....I needed much rum to recover from this terrible ordeal....

The original tale said nothing at all about their appearance (bare breasted or otherwise ). It was purely their song that lured men to a gory death. Homer has a lot to answer for. When it comes to women, men have been blocking their ears with wax ever since .
