Is There a Protocol to Sign Off at Cruisers Forum ?

In a week's time I hope to have finished the work on the boat and go sailing. I won't have internet for some time. Do people sign off and say cheerio here when they leave for a while? I certainly have enjoyed reading the forum over the past couple of weeks while grounded... it seems only fair to say 'thank you' and 'bye for now' wherever you are.

DIY Protocol...

If it's not against the rules then generally we allow it.

The format of CF seems to run question/statement => responses until interest is lost. A detailed description of our travels/travails is better suited to a Blog (maybe Sailblog), and some have this set up at the bottom of each post (Not tooting my own horn...).

Maybe a "Bye for now." in your "Meets and Greets - Sailing out of Singapore" entry?

From what I recall a minority of folks start a thread saying "bye for now" - and outlining plans, sometimes they run for a bit. sometimes not.

FWIW I think a nice touch and adds to the "community spirit, but understand that some may not wish to start a thread and risk the 2nd post being "who you?"

Also a bye bye thread a good way to publicise a blog......

Hey folks, that was nice of all of you to reply! I don't have a blog (I'm useless at this, let's face it) and I haven't much of a sailing plan either. Thai and Malaysian waters for me, wherever the winds are fair and the beaches white, the beer cold and the bbqs don't stop. I didn't want to bust the rules and say goodbye in the Meets and Greets, but since it is allowed, I will try to do so.

Cheers for now!
