pirate In Memory..

So.. I decided to go back to an old thread I started.. Atlantic Delivery.. and read through it.. at just under 1500 posts I'd only read a few at the time..
Got one helluva nice surprise and choked up a bit when I found that Monte had posted this on the thread..

https://youtu.be/Zb5ds2bMICY

Here's another one..

https://youtu.be/BmATcslcCf0

So I am reposting it in memory of an all round great guy and CF member.. and with hopes that all is good with Jen his Missus.

Re: In Memory..

Great montage! Although I only knew him through CF I always paid attention when he "spoke". Sounds like a very good friend...

Re: In Memory..

We met Monte in St. Maarten and enjoyed his and Jens company a couple of times. Nice folks with a real passion for music. Quite a shock when we got the news of his passing. Nice to be reminded of a past member Boatie.

Re: In Memory..

Nice post Boatie, we met Monte and Jen in Antigua, a great couple.
The second vid has him riding in our buggy for a tour of the island, a memorable day out.
Life is so unfair, think of him often, it always show the character of a guy when you only meet for a couple of days but always remember the moments spent.
Love to Jen
Paul and Jenny

Hi Hoofsmit.. likely you spent more real time with them than me..
I met Monte and Jen in Bari, Italy when I arrived to collect his old L380 that he'd sold to an American lady and I was delivering it to Gran Canaria in a rush so as to make it in time for ARC registration.
He and Jen were great and gave me a good run down on the boat then drove me to supermarkets for stores, helped out with fueling which was handballing it in 25litre containers to the boat.. a lot of work they did not need to do.. many would have said.. here's the keys.. have a good trip and away.
After that it was mainly on here where we communed.
A great bloke.. wish I'd had more time..

Re: In Memory..

Boatie, what happened to this gent? I know nothing about him. Enjoyed the videos and looked like a good man. I had a German Shepherd also. Looked just like his dog. I had to laugh when he was on the beach and pretended he would steal the couch from him...Dog tries to fend him off. Exact same mannerisms as my Maxi. How long ago did he pass away? thanks for sharing.

He was an Aussie who bought a Lagoon 380 in France and did Europe with his French Lady Jen before selling it and buying a new Lagoon 390 I think it was for the Caribe, S Pacific and Oz..
Sadly in the Caribe he suffered a heart attack in his mid forties which proved fatal.. but it seems it was sudden and quick.. and he had fun and full life to the last
He was a fun and knowledgeable nice guy.. this forum is poorer without him.
