I'm Being Outsmarted by a Mouse !

At the moment he's running silent and running deep .....not even in his usual hidey holes - I guess he knows I know about 'em by now........

actually it's 1 all ....unless it's the same one I caught and dumped outside (still alive!) yesterday ...........next time he (she?) might not be so lucky . ..... or I'll enter him into the 2012 100 metre sprint!

Being Boxing day (no idea what that is about ) can't lay hands on a mousetrap.........am gonna try bait into a upturned bin, as chemical warfare not as succesful as I had hoped (Air Freshner ).

So now you have a fresh smelling mouse????
Some ammonia in a spray bottle might be effective as a chemical warfare agent.

Mouse GPS with reciprocal course. Get him/her back home every time.

Ever just consider getting off of the mouse's boat? Maybe it has had enough of your visit and thinks it is time for you to go.

Re: I'm being outsmarted by a mouse!

Fastest and easiest way to rid oneself of a mouse is to get a cat. And, make sure the cat is a mouser, not a friend maker.
You can probably borrow a cat from someone nearby.

When you do manage to get a mouse trap, use peanut butter as bait.

Someone from England could explain Boxing Day better than I.

Re: I'm being outsmarted by a mouse!

A mouser or a trap is by far the best way to go. If you use poison, you'll end up with a dead, stinky mouse in some inaccessible corner of the bilge. And for a trap, almost everyone I've ever talked to says that peanut butter or really smelly cheese works best as bait (American cheese slices just don't attract the critters).

And once you get rid of the critter(s), be sure to clean up after them, replace anything they've chewed into, and so on. I recently posted about getting rid of mice and the other stuff to do afterwards in my blog if you want more details:

Getting rid of mice and things to check afterwards

Good luck!

I'm being outsmarted by a mouse!

David, over the years I have read lots of your posts. After careful consideration I do think that the mouse has a higher IQ so therefor It would not be to hard to outsmart you.

Have you considered that the mouse will eat the cockroaches?

C'mon, it is still Christmas time! Show mercy! Show love! Make peace not war!

Some say 'don't kill', them don't say 'don't kill men', just: 'don't kill'. Guess what they meant. The many ambiguities of any old script.

Play safe: get it ALIVE, explain why no welcome, then deport.
