Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for your concern. Since my first car at age 15, never had a problem. Not worried, at all. Where there's a will, there's a way, my friend. Take care. Don't know about you, but my family will always be protected against marauding heathens.

And of course bragging about it on a public forum won't attract any attention.

Because if you write down on a customs declaration the type and number of guns you have, somehow then you won't be able to use them? Ya that's just dumb. You are allowed to have guns, you just aren't allowed to smuggle guns into the Bahamas.

How safe will your kids be if you are in jail for the next few years because you lied on a form instead of declaring them?

Don't discount the marauding heathens, they also have will and ways. But for the most part they are selective in mostly liking to apply their efforts to your kind (must be true as that's the only ones with issues with marauding heathens).

Where there's a will, there's a way. Always has been true, and will continue to be so, forever.

Thanks to the OP for the "scare". Cough, cough.
So many different methods to "Keep you and your loved ones safe" other than a firearm, and hiding them and not declaring them will cause you and your loved ones more problems than they are worth. Ever heard of Bear Spray? Shoots 60' and will cause a charging Grizzly bear to stop dead in his tracks, turn and run as he continually wipes his eyes making things worse for himself. It's legal to have aboard too, so you don't have to hide it and when accompanied by a nice size bat, makes for a pretty good defense. How about a 12 ga. beanbag load and a pump gun? Legal too and easy to check in with. Also, it wont kill an intruder which will cause even more problems for you and your loved ones.. Good luck to you with your choices.

You do realize that you are a guest in a foreign country? That it's not your right to do as you do at home?

When I travel to strange alien countries like the USA I might complain about some of the weird customs, but it's not my country, and I am honoured to be allowed to visit. I respect the laws of the land I travel to, even when I think they're screwy (like allowing everyone to carry a gun, for example ).

If you're not willing to respect the laws of the lands you visit, then it's best if you stay at home. All you do is spoil it for the rest of the cruising community. And you also stay safe from all those "marauding heathens" that you apparently see around you .

I am always curious about how one can hide weapons so well that a thorough search by experienced officials can't find them yet the guns are still so readily available that one can have a gun immediately in hand when the marauding heathen shows up in the middle of the night.

3 MEN ARRESTED FOR UNDECLARED FIREARMS
Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship (HMBS) Cascarilla, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Dwayne Small, apprehended three men yesterday for possession of undeclared weapons. The 40 foot American registered motor vessel was boarded north of Cat Cay in the Bimini chain of islands. Two 9 millimeter pistols with approximately 50 rounds of ammunition were found on board after a search was conducted by HMBS Cascarilla's boarding team. The Captain and passengers were arrested and escorted to North Bimini where they were handed over to Police and Customs officials for further processing.

Guns seized and guests arrested on luxury yacht in The Bahamas
19 August 2015 by Risa Merl

Undeclared guns and ammunition were found on board 26 metre luxury yacht Mia during a routine boarding in The Bahamas on August 11, prompting the seizure of the weapons and the arrest of those on board.
And that's just a quick look...

By the way, all 12 passenegers on the 26m yacht Mia were arrested. LOLOLOL great value charter that one!

Really? Are you always curious, or maybe just sometimes curious? All insults aside, please allow me to ask you "How clever are you?".

If your answer is A) not so clever, as opposed to B ) very clever, then I would advise you to never, ever, think about defending yourself and your loved ones with a well-hidden, yet easily accessible, firearm. Please just 'roll the dice' and don't cry if the outcome is not a happy one. Kind of like Las Vegas.

Hmmm, since you're going with a gambling analogy, I can tell you as a former blackjack dealer that the real fools were the ones who thought they could beat the house with their "cleverness." These were the ones soon parted from their cash.
