Ice Age on the Way!

It’s been a Summer without sunshine for us here in New England and eastern Canada, and rainy most of the time. Getting pretty sick of it, and now this gem gets delivered in todays email:

Re: Ice Age on the Way!

There was extended record-breaking high temperatures, including very high humidity, in much of Newfoundland this year. Water temperatures in the Gulf of St. Lawrence were also record breakingly high. So at least that part of Eastern Canada does not fit your description Ken.

You should have scooted up here .

We had the sun all summer so there wasn't anything left for you. Now it's supposed to be winter but we got your summer weather instead, cloudy and rainy..

I’m talking about now, and over the summer in Maine and Nova Scotia. Plus, I met two different people while in southern Maine who had just sailed down from Newfoundland, both said I didn’t miss anything up there because the weather was cold, rainy and foggy.

I thought you’d be happy to hear the news of the upcoming ice age??

The obvious fact is, the Arctic / Greenland sea ice and permafrost are melting, and at an accelerating rate.

Re: Ice Age on the Way!

Well I believe the climate is changing.....multiple ice ages in the past suggest this to be the case.
I think man has made an impact on sea levels.......by putting too many boats in the oceans.
Every single boat in the water displaces water.....fact!!
Remove all the boats from the water....level will drop....fact!!!
I propose a middle ground.....remove all unread, not needed books from boats.....save the world!!!
AND!!!! we will have loads of stuff to burn during the next ice age!! YAY!!

C'mon guys. Let's not risk unravelling the global warming scare. Besides, "coming ice age" has already had its day in the sun. Along with population bombs, peak oil, millennium bugs etcetera.

Re: Ice Age on the Way!

They are promoting a book: https://store.iceagenow.info/index.p...&product_id=53

And how can they sell if people are not frightened?

Sure we will probably have another ice age but the scale is measured in hundreds of thousands years (that's about the time between one and another) with interglacial periods in between. We are on one that is called the Holocene that started 11 000 years ago.

Normally these interglacial periods stay in between 10 000 and 20 000 years so the chances are that we will have yet some thousands of years before the next cold period.

Anyway tomorrow in what regards this is one or two centuries, not one or two decades.

Re: Ice Age on the Way!

The PNW had a good summer with very little rain.
October had almost no rain and lots of sun.
November is usually sideways rain and lots of wind, but we had a record high yesterday.

It must be the head on crash of globull warming and the coming "ice age".
