Some years ago off anacapa island in california, a great white attacked a fellow in his kayak, presumbably thinking it was some kind of seal. He barely made it to shore. There are some pictures somewhere of the damage to the kayak.

Yes the photo is real however, as you can imagine when real life slams head on into bulltwaddle there is an interesting story behind it.

Scientists checked the shark would not attack the kayak before they stuck some long haired dope in it. They then used the kayak with attached dope to paddle after said sharky and research it.

Full, interesting, scientific, non scare the daylights out of you for fun article on tyhe fabbo Snopes Website:

Those researchers were not very smart in thier perception that the shark was not a danger.Considering that other researchers in the same area have filmed Great whites breaching on a target from depth. If I was that hairy guy,I'd thank my lucky stars and get a less leathal job.Mudnut.

I wonder what the job posting for that position was titled: Shark Bait, qualifications not required. Swimming an asset, Kayak paddling also considered an asset. Short hours. Apply in person.
