Humans, +3 / Mother Nature, Zero

Dispite her best efforts mother nature has scored an absolute Zero so far with Cyclone Yasi. There is still no reported loss of Life.

However, the score is THREE for the humans. Three babies were born during the storm, one of them in a cyclone shelter.
Cyclone Yasi Baby Girl Born In Cairns Evacuation Centre

Fan-bloody-tastic news. Instead of loosing, potentially 1000's of lives, we gain three

(Ok ok I know I am sounding off a little soon. But we need good news!)

Cheers
Oz

They ALL count.

I'll feel better if the score isn't lopsided by this time tomorrow, but it may take awhile for news - good or bad - to get out. 180 MPH winds? I'd die from fright.

Having rode out hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, and survived the subsequent "aftermath" for several weeks before being evacuated to a shelter in Mississippi... I'm not making fun of the story, it certainly is a pleasant to hear, and a very nice thought.... However, I still think my joke is funny

Queensland police said at least two people were reported missing in the Innisfail area, south of Cairns.
Deputy Police Commissioner Ian Stewart said one of the reports relates to a person who may have been on a boat, and he is still optimistic both men will be found alive.
"We are hampered in those investigations by the fact that we have many mobile phone towers which are actually damaged and not working at the moment," he said.

If you want to see what a flood can do look at New Orleans, If you want to know what a hurricane can do look at Mississippi....
Just a joke... but lots of truth in it.
Let the pounding begin....
Regardless Katrina was pissed and kicked our a$$

I think Mother Nature is well up on the count in general. Id never bet against it.

After the last 60 days, Queenslanders are going to be either nervous wrecks or the toughest bastards on the planet. I wonder if any of the typhoon babies will be called "Noah", "Wendy" or "Gail"?
