Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

Title of the thread is how to sneak in, not be a paying customer. Presupposes dishonesty doesn't it? Why would anyone sneak into anywhere unless they weren't supposed to be there?

Maybe. But we didn't brag about it on a public forum.

Also, by reserved I hope you didn't mean a handicapped spot. There's a special hell for those folks

Haha this is more the answer I was looking for. I guess I don't need to be sneaky. Not trying to rob anyone, just wondering what the situation is for people who want to duck into hotels/resorts for a minute without being run off by the employees. Sounds like if I'm buying a drink it's not a big deal.

You were asking how to sneak into resorts without paying the resort fee. That is stealing.

Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

It is a bit of a fine line to pretend to be a guest at a resort that does not allow "outsiders." Bit of a slippery slope? How about the next time when you enjoy a nice dinner, are leaving the country the next morning, and the waiter says "what room number shall I charge this to sir?" Sorry, I'm in the naysayer camp. And this from a guy who smuggles cheap candy into the movie theater because I'm to cheap to obey the "no outside food and drink" signs and pay $5 for a 99 cent bag of candy.
Guess that make me a hypocrite. But a holier-than-thou hypocrite with 4 extra bucks in his pocket.

It was a question. And as others have mentioned, the title of your thread kinda indicates a certain perspective.

That said, if you're up front about it, what;s the issue?

Oh, gee, another question...

I would argue that is the same exact thing as what I'm talking about. I definitely would never dine and dash or steal something. Using a shower or a bathroom is hardly stealing... especially when I paid for a drink 10 minutes later.

Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

I suppose it's fine to sneak into a hotel use it's facilities and justify it with buying a few drinks. I also suppose that you wouldn't mind then, while you are at this hotel, that some of the hotel staff, without asking, borrow your dingy and head out to your boat and take it out for a few hours of leisurely cruising as long as they replace the small amount of diesel they used would you?

Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

Isn't it odd how we can all see things so differently.

I thought Tellie's analogy was spot on.

Different strokes...

Paul.

Apparently "stugots" has been to the Honey-Boo-Boo School of Etiquette, with Professor Robertson as his mentor

I think the analogy about sneaking candy into a movie theater was a much better analogy.
