Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

got caught in a bad storm and was rained on for 3/4 of the day, pulled into resort/marina, gassed up and asked attendant if we could just sit and warm up and dry out. His response was showers are in clubhouse, bar is down the hall from there and food is decent, stay as long as you want and we will move you to the transient dock after refuelling and water topping.
asking and telling them your a visitor will most cases yield the best response.

The girls were probably the local hookers....

Dumb posting it on here, did you not expect to get flamed.

Not a handicapped spot... more like a "parking for Judy's hair salon only" spot. Man, don't tell me you never bend the rules anywhere.

Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

I would ask. I dont like to feel like I am unwanted, or obtaining a benift by deception.

In Grenada I would think theres lots of places that would let you drink at the bar or dine. Inside showers may be different. There would also be places that dont want non guests.

We may only go this way once, but theres a hell of a lot of cruisers following.

I don't know if that is an original statement but it is quotable !

Anyone who ignores it deserves keel-hauling.

i can understand, and fully agree, that i should not go in to a private resort without an invite any more than i would go in to a private home.

but did you know that the word 'hotel' is from the french 'hotel' (imagine that!) which means 'public building' or something like that. so a hotel should expect to have 'the public' entering it's premises. what the public does there is another matter.

we regularly go in to hotels where we are not staying, have lunch and maybe a 'walkaway' drink and ease in to the pool. they sell us something and we repay them. that's how business works.

we behave like good citizens and we've never been asked to leave, or even felt like we were unwelcome.

some of the posters on here need to loosen up their shorts - they're way too uptight....

If you read any of my posts (especially the OP) you would see that is exactly what I did.

I've already acknowledged that the post title could have been better worded to express what I was actually trying to ask.

Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

Of all of the petty crap I have read here.
Tell ya what, I will sneak in, drink all the booze, piss on the floor, harass the old girls and feel up the young ones.
While the fat old guys watch.
After breakfast, I might take a swim to work up an appetite for lunch, which hopefully will include the old girls I missed at breakfast, heck, the young ones too.
The fat guys will still be watching.
I would pass out by dinner though, so carry on without me.

And no, not sarcasm, exploitation.
Free market baby.

Thank you! I was beginning to think I was in the twilight zone or that movie where nobody has ever told a lie (The Invention of Lying, I think).

If I'm hanging out in a public place of business and paying for drinks I think it's perfectly fine to try to "blend in" and try to use the guest WiFi or rinse the sand off in the shower. I'm not robbing old ladies or stealing toilet paper as some others have alleged

Re: How to sneak into beach resorts

Connie and I have been anchored off of and dingied into many resorts in the Pacific and the Caribe, we have even had folks GIVE us dinner because so many of there guests talked about the Boat looking so good anchored in the moonlight out there!! We have also payed for day use in them ! and have been told after buying fuel to partake of the showers and such !! I can't for the life of me why anyone would wish to SNEEK on there place !! I guess it;s sorta like back when folks would use slugs in vending machines!! Its still stealing!
