Anyone who says thanks by way of offering to help out with the next antifoul will not only be always welcome aboard...I think I would write them into my will and place them first in my life...behind the boat of course

Have a friend who's dad taught him to never open the door with your hands...because they are too full with gifts.

Show up on time!!! That burns my butt. Sets the whole day off wrong.

This one is easy my boat, my riules.

If I want to launch at 9:00AM I tell everyone 8:30. I also tell them I will not wait. Basically I build in a 30 minute buffer. I have never told anyone my strategy and I have rarely, other than for mechanical reasons, launched late.

So far this works. The skipper has never waited for crew and I think we have left someone behind only once.

We had another boat in our club that was chronically late for twilight races. They actually postponed the race a couple of times for this boat. We got together and complained vociferously and now if they are late, they are late.

I would like a bottle of Champagne Dom of course..... and a new Jib sail. Main is looking a bit worn. New Linear polyurethane coating on the hull would be nice. Gift card form West Marine. Peace in the Middle East? Cause I ain't gotten S**T FROM NOBODY!! sorry, got carried away.

yep, I think you can also send a card, together with some pics, which could best recall the beautiful memories on boat.

Having never been invited aboard (do I smell?) I had no idea what to offer!

After speaking to MarkJ I realise all sailers are alcoholics (or thats just the impression I got from him lol) so a crate of beer for the captain is a must.

I spoke to my partner who thinks that paying for dinner at the local marina is also the right thing to do.

So heres my offer: A crate of bud/fosters/tesco's own/a bottle of white lightning* and a meal for the captain on me

Any takers? lol

*delete as appropriate
