Looking at it on Google Earth makes it seem even crazier. There is a breakwater extending out from the harbor entrance that you can just see at 36 seconds into the video. It looks like he almost clips it. Looking on GE, that extends fairly far out from the mouth. Once he made it past that, it was really just a sleigh ride. Did he know that at the time? I've watched it several times now, still amazing.
