Re: Full Moon Tonight

We sat out on the beach tonight watching it. One of things I miss most about cruising, now that we are back in dry-land living for a bit, is that you were always totally aware of where the moon was in its cycle

This sunday there is more than just a full moon. It is a "supermoon" because it is at its perigee (closest part of its orbit to the earth). It should rise just after sunset and when it is close to the horizon there is an illusion effect that makes it seem even larger.

If you have a digital camera with a 200mm or larger lens and a tripod anyone can get a good shot. There are many websites that advise how to photo the moon. (just google, "tips how to photo moon").

I went out to do a trial photo last night but it was overcast and it's has been raining here all day so I dont hold out much hope for tonight for me.
