Well, actually it was a good thing, the prevailing trade
winds here are ENE and they were quite light on the 13th. So a motor-sail to windward in light air beats bashing to windward in the normal 15-20 knot
trades. The route
from Utila to Roatan is directly into the prevailing wind. They are amped up a bit for the next few days blowing 20-25 from the E-SE...so we're staying put for a few days before pushing further east.
In short, Friday the 13th was a good day for us. And, in fact we saw about half-a-dozen other vessels underway also....most of the them were going the "right" way and having a nice down-wind sail -- looked like a good day for them too.
