Folkboat story

Some time ago I read an article posted on the cruisers forum about an old man, a retired doctor who purchased an old folkboat and travelled all across Europe. I've never been able to find that link (or story again) and would love to read it over again. Does anyone remember or maybe can point me to the article?
Many thanks
Nadine

Re: Folkboat story

If you are into Folkboats, here is an interesting story:

This sailing granny went solo - Obituaries - smh.com.au

It does not mention, that on the last ten miles of her voyage, she went too close to Barrenjoey Headland, and lost the boat. The local Folkboat Association bought her a new one!

Regards,
Richard

Re: Folkboat story

^^ I had wondered what happened to Ann.

Before she left Sydney, she started to learn CN but the instructor stopped teaching her when he found out what she was planning to do. He figured that with the CN knowledge, she wouldn't set sail. Of course she did set off and finally got the basics of CN from a ship's third officer in Thursday Island.
