Fishing for Salmon

I just got done looking for a good salmon spot, and I didn't find one, where are they? went all last year didn't get one.

Three days ago, we were sailing out from Port Townsend southbound and ran into 50-100 Dahl Porpoise and jumping silver sided fish. My guess is that would be a good place to start.
