I think that "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than have to have a frontal lobotamy" was originally by Dorothy Parker, along with a ton of other originals, like, "Men don't make passes at girls who wear glasses". And, after a rival waited for her to enter the doorway first and said, "Age before beauty!", Dorothy Parker quipped, "Pearls before swine!".
