My favorite CO quote came one night as the skipper caught me smoking and pissing over the fantail. CO, "How's the water tonight son?" as he proceeds to relieve himself as well. FC2 (at the time), "A little chilly Capt'n"

Is no one going to finish this story? Ok, then:

And then the Captain says "That it is, son, but it's not very deep."

I guess that belongs on the joke thread, so here's one for the quote collection:

"The only thing worse than a Captain who never served as First Mate is a First Mate who was once a Captain."

There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who walk into a room and their attitude says "Here I am", and those whose attitude says "There you are"...

The "There you are" type is always more liked...

There is much that is sweet in the life of a man, if he looks for it in simple ways.

Re: Favorite quotations

"If you want to stand up, go on deck." ~ Uffa Fox

On one occasion, a potential client was sitting in a Learjet mock-up and complained to Bill Lear that he couldn’t stand up. Bill Lear replied,
You’re absolutely right, and you can’t stand up in your f — ing Rolls-Royce, so if you want to be able to stand up, walk around, and fly three times slower, then buy yourself a DC-3.”
