Etiquette

When anchored in a bay with several other boats, what is the proper etiquette to hosting a skeet shooting party off the stern of one's boat using empty beer bottles? Last time there was a tremendous ruckus of yelling and arm waving from the other boats and a hideous squawking over the radio and I couldn't tell what people were saying. When we woke up from our nap after running out of beer all the other boats were gone. We left too and went looking for them because we were lonely.

Heh! Proper etiquette would dictate that you invite your neighbors over to join in the fun. Their reaction was probably a result of their disappointment in not being included in your beer bottle blasting party. Who wouldn't be disappointed!

A suggestion for next time--rafting up several of the neighboring boats with yours would present you with the opportunity to toss up multiple bottles at once so that you and your newly-made friends could simultaneously blaze away with six or more shotguns. What good clean fun that would be!

Hmmm. Maybe I should move this over to the Joke Thread...

Guns and beer, always a fun combo. I think proper etiquette would be to anchor in the back if firing off the stern unless you want to pick off some bottles placed on the spreaders of another boat (very fun, btw).

I've also discovered that using bottles is really the way to go, they provide a very satisfying "pow" when you connect and aluminum cans tend to float unless you blast them again after hitting the water. All those cans floating around is really bad form.

You must not of been in Texas, a good skeet shoot calls vessels for miles

DOJ- At the risk of sounding like a total dweeb - can you translate the forum lingo for this newbies? BTW If you are going to keep doing that, add a link for translation.

As an old, out of date fuddy-duddy, I’ve often had to refer to an internet acronyms dictionary, such as:
