Do You Pee Standing Up

I need permission from the guys out there. Is it OK if I sit when I pee?

Whether at a mooring, underway or in a slip, I just can't seem to hit the mark. It's either too bumpy, too dark or I've had too much to drink, or all three.

I end up having to wipe everything down or hose everything off. Damn!

What do you do?

YESSSS!! Definately. Some boats have rules and even signs saying that guys need to sit down to pee.

"One hand for your self and one for the mast" doesnt apply in the head! Freudian slip intended :-D

I almost always pee standing up, unless it's super bumpy and just completely impractical.

And to anger everyone on here, I usually pee over the rails. Wrap your arm around the shroud, brace against a lower.

Over side on the back, unless close to land, then usually standing.

Yep.,, Guilty of that. But when offshore, only in fair weather, daylight hours and when someone else is on deck. Thats been my personal rules for peeing over the rail.

I seem to recall that the US Coastguard have a category known as "Open Fly Syndrome" which relates to drownings from a yacht and is the largest single category.

The origin of the name is rather obvious.

seems that there is something wrong when peeing has something to do with being a REAL sailor
