Dinghy wheels gone wild

Currently anchored in Turtle Bay, Mx. My crew and I saw many large Pangas on the beach and wondered how they got up so high up the beach. That was until one motored by and I saw wheels with hubcaps turning on the Panga as it passed us.

hahaha.. I wouldnt do it. But I love the creativity of the third ( or should I say second) world.

Ya...they just push it a little up the beach, hook their pick-up to it and up she goes.

Celestialsailor is correct... very common practice south of the border, particularly on a sandy beach that occasionally gets pounded with surf... like driving on pavement! Phil

They probably act as buoyancy compensators or bilge keels too.

Or as fenders at the dock. They could have many uses.
