WOW...After looking at this thread I feel stomped on by footwear info.
Just the same I will add my two cents worth.
I used to go barefoot, enduring the occasional stubbed toe, but as of this past summer I quit that.
My boat was pitching a bit when I mistepped onto the lazarette and the big ol'toe was the only thing that made contact, slipped off and down to the cockpit
floor, with an immediate cracking of the bone. (ouch, can you feel it?)
Barefoot for me is now limited to the salon
area, not the working deck
