Thankfully, it was a dead whale - can you imagine the uproar had it been a live whale?

I wonder if there will be any type of legal ramification for the cruise line?

I think that's why it docked in Canada, in the US the relatives could have sued.

Too bad, the big Fins are getting pretty scarce. Geez, that's a hell of an appendage theyve got on the front of that boat..
Hey david, you got a new avatar!

'Threatened species' - I guess the whale was warned.

Ya, and if I was a whale that had been Threatened, I for damn sure would've been steering way clear of large speeding vessels.
Love the new Avatar David! LOL It's a shame everyone sees the death of a fellow Mammal as funny... J/K

Same thing happened with an oil tanker in AK recently. Different species, same result. A shame none the less. Those ships clip along at a pretty good rate. And the bulbous bow, actually a bow wave depressor, is there to increase speed...somehow. I often wonder how people come up with these ideas. "Hey, I have an idea, lets put a big hard-on at the bow and see what happens" This is just one example of how it could have happened.

That's the longest bulbous bow I have seen in my life. If the helmsman had steered a little better it could have been whale shish kabob for everyone.

LMAO....Yeah, makes me wonder if maybe there's not some sort of "Mine is bigger than yours" envy contest going on out there amongst Marine Architects.

I often catch kelp on my centerboard. Will the greenies go after me next?
