Cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh

Officials reportedly estimate the final death toll to be between 5,000 and 10,000 as a result of Cyclone Sidr (Category 4), which struck the South Asian country last week.

Save the Children estimated the number of deaths to be between 5,000 and 10,000, while the Red Crescent Society reported on November 18 that the number of deaths could be up to 10,000.
As of November 19, international groups have pledged US$25 million to repair the damage.

It sucks to live in Bangladesh. Especially the low coastal areas.

The big problem now is the post typhoon diseases that rage about.

The whole area is a large mud flat with a major river and tributaries running thru it. An exaggerated New Orleans, if you may compare the two.

The soil is very fertile, which draws the poor farmers to the area. The problem being, there is nowhere to go when the floods hit.
