The problem with burgees is that printed burgess suck after a short time in UV. You can hang them on the wall but not fly them. Only the sewn burgees will hold up well. If you get into more than a few colors they start to get expensive. Some of the fancy club burgees go for more than $100. I would prefer one that could be flown. If flown the traditional way from a pig stick at the masthead the design needs to be simple to see on the water.

A coach whip design would be way more cool.

I believe that Cruisers Forum already HAS the basis for a logo - it's at the top of every page. A field of 2 blues, sky and water, with an overlaid palm leaf silhouette in green. Simple to sew - only 3 colors - and easy to recognize from afar. Don't need boats, after all it will fly from a boat, and then you don't have the problem of sail/power/both. It captures the cruisers' spirit: the sky, the sea, and an exotic locale.

Peace,
Margo

Morgan Paul,

Hey you beat me to it while I was writing. Very close to what I imagined, and Gord it a great addition!

Good job!

Don't you recognize Hud when you see him, DOJ, or are you just jealous?
