have you heard of Taylor guitars? You can get a Taylor made of imbuia, if you don't mind investing a few K into a guitar. Here's the link: Taylor Guitars \ Features \ Woods \ Wood Types
Imbuia is sometimes called "Brazilian Walnut," although it's not a true walnut. I got turned on to it a couple years ago when I purchased a hardwood drum made of imbuia, which has a deep fiddle to the grain and an amazing ring. Fell in love with the wood, and knew that I could no longer be happy with the teak veneer table that came with the boat.

My new ukulele is spruce top with a mahogany back, which matches my Martin guitar. No Taylors on this boat. Sigh.

Is this thread drifting? Let's talk burgees. I think that mine is made of nylon. Really heavy nylon.

Be damn careful, though, if you invest in a Taylor Guitar and plan to fly somewhere with it:

Footnote: Bob Taylor responded to the "United Breaks Guitars" video with a video of his own.

Boat manufacturers, take note!

Did you mean to say 'irresistible' or did you mispell 'irascible'? That would better explain the birds, uke and fishing vessels I think.

I go both ways. When it comes to women, I've found that it pays not to be too predictable.

I should mention that the imbuia table was a gift to my loving wife on the occasion of our 33rd anniversary. She thinks I'm irrepressible.

(Or maybe irresponsible, given the predilection to throw away the perfectly fine table that came with the boat.)

(love the way you spell "misspell," by the way)
