Crowded Waters - Beaches, Anchorages, Marinas, Pools

You thought your beach or anchorage was crowded? LOL

I suppose it is a matter of "whatever floats your boat" but I think this is crazzzzzzy crowded!

Make sure you fast forward to see near the end (about 1:23 mark) of this video to get the full effect, see the wave, and a wide view of the scene. It is...gasp...UFB!

What do you think?

Feel free to post photos or videos of other scenes of "Crowded Waters" you have seen.

Something to make you appreciate those secluded beaches you can find when cruising or sailing.

Looks put on Ö like some sort of Guinness world record attempt. Surely no one would be floating in there for funÖ But I get your point.

I dislike crowds. Most of the anchorages I visit are empty, and I like it that way. This is one reason Iím hesitant to sail south. From all I see, most of you cruise in incredibly crowded, urban areas. Not my cup of tea...

Crowded Waters - Beaches, Anchorages, Marinas, Pools

Years ago my Brother and I had to fly the Cayman Islands Mosquito control airplane back to the US, long story short we had issues with CBP and stayed overnight at a nice Motel in Key West.
It had a pool with a bar, pool was pretty crowded and I told my Brother letís get into the pool and get something to drink.
His answer was ,watch a minute and see if any get out to pee.
That was enough for me, cause everybody was drinking, but no one getting out, so what were they soaking in?

Funny thing, I left Brunswick Ga five days ago, mostly motoring down the ICW. Currently in Port Canaveral waiting to get my dinghy repaired.
We are the only boat here, except for one apparently derelict Boat, and every anchorage we have stopped at on the way, we were the only Boat.
Seems as long as you donít want to anchor in a Megapolis, that itís not hard to be alone, but for some reason it seems people are a herding animal, just I donít like being in the herd myself.
I figured Florida in Winter, it would be tough to find deserted anchorages, but in fact almost all of them outside of the major cities are deserted.

Thatís so good to hear. Thanks. Gives me hope for when we do eventually turn south.

Re: Crowded Waters - Beaches, Anchorages, Marinas, Pools

We used to go fishing in the billabongs in the NT and would find the most remote or difficult to reach ones we could. These billabongs were several miles long and often you had it all to yourself. Occasionally we would come back to camp to find a group had set up their camp right beside ours. We would have to pack up and move away.

I don't know why people do it, but they genuinely don't understand why we didn't want to be beside them and think us rude to move.

Steady,
I think I would prefer to swim in the Chicago River adjacent to the sewer overflow discharge pipes after a heavy rain. Without question, markedly cleaner water. Good luck and safe sailing . . . Rognvald
