No that would be for the winter- mine including haulout/bottom wash/stands is $525 (end of October until mid April). Demasting is $4 a foot of boat, or we have a hand crane we can use if we want to do it ourselves.

Have you looked into a sailing club near you at all? We run races all season & will take out all comers. It's a great way to get experience on lots of different boats. Even as a full member, now with my own boat, I either take an experienced skipper on my boat or crew for somebody else most weeks - & sail single-handed the rest of the time when I'm much more cautious and careful than I am with the security of a safe pair of hands aboard! As crew looking to sail - I've found that being upfront about my inexperience, eagerness to learn & my personal risk tolerance is key - also getting to know the skippers. Some are great people but I'd never crew for them in a race :-)
