Crave your Privacy? Install an Anti-Photo Shield.

Apparently the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has a rather curious new addition built in to his latest oversized yacht...

This is a bit old:
Researchers develop prototype system to thwart unwanted video and still photography
I would think it would be easily defeatable by a semi-silvered glass in front of lens (a la Cokin filter). I also imagine it would be a lot cheaper to have a bunch of thugs just beat the piss out of anyone he doesn't like.

Thanks.

I suppose he can afford the equipment and the testing of it.

And being a cynic........
Using the thugs is probably half of how he got there in the first place.

Look, that's simply not fair to him.

Besides, you're forgetting nepotism, insider trading, bribery & theft. They're important tools too.

Camarades, you talk like good communists - he rich, he bad. In America, they call it 'predestination'. But us here we know it - rich man, bad man.

Or is it because his boat is bigger than yours ???

That is incredible! Isn't it strange the lengths that people will go to for what they want. Although blame lies not only with Abramovich, but also with the photographers.
Not that many people want a picture of my boat .But I know she is still pretty.
