Ah for gods sake that claimed 650 stood up never happened plain and simple. Give me a credible link of a report on the 2008 conference that mentions it.

One problem is that the deniers keep referring to outdated studies and opinions. There certainly was substantial disagreement in the scientific community in 2008 but that's not true in 2013.

For example, in July 2012, Robert Mueller an outspoken "skeptic" who is funded by the Koch petroleum brothers admitted he was wrong.

“Three years ago I identified problems in previous climate studies that, in my mind, threw doubt on the very existence of global warming. Last year, following an intensive research effort involving a dozen scientists, I concluded that global warming was real and that the prior estimates of the rate of warming were correct. I’m now going a step further: Humans are almost entirely the cause.”

I also think the 650 scientists standing up in 2008 is a fabrication. But you couldn't even make that up in 2013. If a guy funded by oil money reaches this conclusion........

Membership of apega is a prerequisite to a job with an oil, gas, or mining company.

So are you happy with a self selecting 1077 professional engineers and geoscientists from the oil industry answering an online and magazine questionnaire can be seen as a balanced overview of the views of the worlds climate scientists?


It might be worth broadening your research a little.
