My two favorites are 1) my frind's Rhodes 41 "Dissertation" (He was always working on it.)
and 2) when another friend was divorced by his wife Ruth, he bought a boat and named it "Ruthless."

One we came across a few years ago was maybe witty but it caused headaches for the Coast Guard - "Official Business". Ok clever when you say "I'm going away this weekend on Official Business" not so clever when coming into a port and calling in to the VMR or coast guard as they think "oh crumbs whats this about". We listened to this throw the VMR several times and it could be a problem.

A friend's MacGregor was, "Blo Me".
He bought a Helms 27, it will be, "Blo Me Again".
Wish I'd a thunk of it.

In 1979, I was out playing on my Sol Cat just outside Marina del Rey when the wind died (like it always did at sunset). I got a tow from a trawler called "Spaced Ship" - It was. I got home just in time to go to work the next day….
Over a decade later and 2800 miles east in Long Island Sound, I used to hear radio chatter from a boat that identified itself as “Liquid Courage”.

I'm not always a fan of "Witty". I purchased a small boat named "Sea U Soon". I still wince whenever I see it.
