Once met a J-24 named "CIRROSIS" , and knowing the crew, they were in their way.

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

In Florida around 1980 there was a motor boat called "NGDPCOB." I was told it was "No GD potato chips on board."

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

When we bought our boat, we renamed her (bad juju I know, but I make my own luck, no superstitions here...insert whistling past the graveyard emjoi here ) We called her Wake.

1) The trail left in the water behind by a moving vessel
2) To awaken, to rouse from a state of being asleep
3) The celebration after a funeral

All very relevant to buying a boat and casting off the lines to our former shore-bound, convention-bound lives, and opening our sleepy eyes to a new and limitless world.

Also, it gave us the chance to make up a most excellent font for the transom!

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

I sold a Catalina 27 to a guy that renamed her Damfino.

When he sold her and bought a bigger houseboat it was Damfino II !

If I ever get another boat, it's going to be called Sara Tonin.

Re: Catchy or Witty Boat Names

I once saw a hot rod flat bottom river racer named "Titty Bouncer"
If you ever saw it flying up the Parker Strip with his girlfriend on board it would make sense.

Cute, but seems pessimistic. Our thoughts create our reality.
